Genealogist – The museum is currently searching for a volunteer to head this department. If interested, please contact the curator at 205-973-0465.

The museum has the largest genealogical research library in Blount County with over one thousand research books and about 750 family histories in its collection. There are also a large number of maps that can help visualize where your family lived. Volunteer genealogists can help guide you as you discover your family’s history. All services are free, but there is a copier fee. (Blount County Historical Society members enjoy a discounted copy fee!)
